St. Olave, Mitcham

About our Parish

The parish is almost exclusively a residential one (with yet more housing being built even to this day) in Streatham Vale in the southwest corner of London and, whilst largely dormitory in character, it cannot be fairly described as either suburban or urban - some have coined the phrase Sub-Urban as best describing it.

The parish was a founder member of the 'Upper Mitcham Group' of churches who serve the large residential population that lives hereabouts. Each member of this group of churches represents something different within the Anglican tradition, and if you don't fancy the 'High Church' traditions of St. Olave's, you will find something to suit you nearby.

St. Olave's, under the Episcopal Oversight of the the Bishop of Edmonton, is a local, sacramentally focused, Christian community and a member of Forward in Faith.
