St Peter's is one of three churches in the Benefice of Milton Ernest, Pavenham and Thurleigh. It is the only church in Pavenham and is positioned in a high location out of but overlooking the village. Built in the 12th or 13th century and Grade 1 listed, it is of architectural interest. There is a spacious open churchyard.
The Vicar, the Rev'd Elizabeth Inall, was licensed to the parish and wider Benefice in September 2009.
