Over 600 Years of History - Growing the right way
Since 1407 St John's has stood on this site, in the heart of the city, seeking to give glory to God and to serve the needs of each generation of city-dwellers.
We invite you to join us as we have now equipped ourselves with the facilities necessary to continue the work of the church in this place for this new century and beyond.
We believe that St John’s is called to be a place where communities help people connect with God in prayer and worship, and where the good news of God’s love is witnessed in action.
Over the next five years our church is called to grow numerically, grow in its level of activities and grow in the depth of discipleship; and our building and its resources are to be well used by the community at large, witnessing to the presence of the living God in the heart of the city and in the midst of human life, in all its variety and complexity, in all its joys and sorrows.
We hope that you will consider joining us for our regular services and events. You are vital in helping us work for growth in this important place of worship and service.
We welcome you and we very much look forward to your presence in this historic building - an inspiration to God's wonderous works. Please do visit our cafe facilities - open on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. See the picture gallery on the bottom right for more information & menus. We aspire to inspire !

We are still allowed vehicle access to enable people to be dropped off outside church, and then continue on to park elsewhere (Trinity Street car park - free parking on Sundays until 1pm and free parking behind Barclays Bank, Church Street on Sundays only).
