St John the Baptist

Welcome to St John's! We are an inclusive church in the heart of the city of Peterborough - we are here for everyone and have been serving the people of our city as a welcoming community of faith since 1407.  We have two services of Holy Communion each week, at 11am on Sundays and 12 noon on Fridays. The church is also open every Saturday morning for a Saturday Cafe serving hot drinks and delicious home made cakes. St John's is often used as a venue for musical and other events and we are also a Community Support Hub, working in partnership with Peterborough City Council to support our most vulnerable residents.  You can find out more about the church on our parish website, and  details of forthcoming events can be found here. Our daughter church, St Luke's in Mayor's Walk, is at the heart of the residential area of our parish and there is a service of Holy Communion at 9.15am every Sunday and on the first Wednesday each month a Healing Service of prayers and reflection. Every Wednesday between 10-12 there is a friendly drop in - Chill & Chat - for coffee, biscuits and social time. You are assured of a warm welcome at both our churches!

Safeguarding

Our parish is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of Peterborough’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advised our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
