St Mary's was originally a Priory Church established in the 11th Century as an out reach of Malmesbury Abbey. There is a 14th century screen, some panels having been restored to show their original ,paintings of Saints.
The Church serves a community to the North West of Barnstaple which has a 'village feel' whilst being part of the town with regard to the wider Church community.
Our Churchmanship is very much 'middle of the road' and all are very welcome to join us in our Sunday Worship.
From October 2008 we have been in a vacancy, but hope to have a new incumbent in the Summer of 2009.
The two Readers are leading a majority of the services, Mr. David Rushworth and Mrs. Marion Sanders, 01271 346003, either is available for enquires re. services, etc..
