Saint John's Minster is a fine Victorian Church which dominates Church Street from every angle. It has its foundation dating back to Saint Wilfrid. It is a restored space inside, with a large nave and a double choir - in fact the second bank of choir stalls are for the Select Vestry, an ancient tradition dating back to well before the reformation. We have a fine icon screen and artworks, including a large mural pained after the Second World War by a German POW. We have A BCP Eucharist on Wednesday at 10.30, Low Mass on Friday at 10am and Sung Mass on Sunday at 9.30. All are very welcome and we are fully wheelchair accessible. A car park is located at the back of the Minster for visitors.
