We are a small, friendly church.  1 in 4 of our worshippers are under the age of ten.  But we cater for everyone.

You can find us on Bishop's Road in Sedgley Park - right next to St Gabriel's Medical Centre, and just up the road from Sedgley Park Community Primary School (the old Kings Road School!).  Set the SatNav for M25 0HT.

If you want to know more, or need to be in touch about a Baptism, a Wedding, room hire, another service we can offer or some information, please ring our Priest in Charge, Revd Canon Steve Williams, on 0161-773 8839 or e-mail us at  saintgabriel@talktalk.net  ... or use the contact us section.

Confirmation  is our service of adult commitment to Christ - and, in our church, you can take Holy Communion once you have been confirmed.  This year's service for Prestwich Mission Partnership churches is on Sunday 23 June at St Margaret's at 6.30 p.m., led by the Bishop of Bolton.  Debby Plummer is leading preparation sessions.  See Steve or Debby if you want to know more.

 The Whit Walk in Manchester

Sunday, 19th May, Pentecost Sunday

Churches Together plus Salford Deanery invite us all to join in the Manchester Whit Walk on Sunday 19th May:

assemble at Mcr Cathedral, 1pm, with packed lunch and banners.

Leave 2pm for Town Hall.

Children VERY welcome.

Churches Together in Prestwich & Kersal will be there with their banner.

Five Churches Walk

We hope to run another Five Churches Walk on Saturday 8 June.  Please keep the date free in your diary - and be ready to hear confirmation of it through the week ahead!  This will be a sponsored walk from St Gabriel's, taking in all the Anglican churches of Prestwich - to which our friends in the other churches will also be invited.  The route has been explored successfully - and is fine for this year!  But there is more preparation to be done this week.

Ascension Day this Thursday

Ascension Day is when we remember Jesus bidding farewell to his disciples after his rising again from the dead - to prepare them for the coming of the Holy Spirit to live within them.  It's one of the most important Christian festivals of the year.  We celebrate by joining with our friends in Prestwich Mission Partnership for a service of Communion at St George's, Simister, on Thursday evening, 9th May, at 7.30 p.m.

0161-773 8839 or 07757 411 377How your Computer Printer Cartridges can raise money for us!

If you have a computer printer - get the ink cartridge re-filled at Cartridge World, on the corner of Bury New Road and Kings Road, mention St Gabriel's Church, and take a "loyalty card" available in church. If you mention St Gabriel's church with each cartridge being re-filled, the card will be stamped, and St Gabriel's will receive £1.

If you need to throw away your cartridge, because it can't be re-filled, put it into the special Cartridge World re-cycle bin in church.. They will pay St Gabriel's 50p for each throw-away cartridge we give them in this way.
