St. Margaret's Church is a 13th Century Church and is Grade 1 listed. The Tower can be seen for miles around. It has an ancient Yew Tree over 1400 years old in the churchyard. We have a celure (canopy) which was painted before the War of the Roses with White and Red Roses in the middle of a sunburst (keeping up with the politics of the era). We are a parish of over 30,000 people. It is a very beautiful church with parts of the parish boundary going out into the River Medway.  We are church that is open 7 days a week for anyone to come in and just sit and pray or have a coffee on a Thursday morning. There is always someone around to help you.

The Earls of Tufton (Thanet) gave their name to the chapel and many Tuftons and Bloors are buried in the crypt after being moved from Yalding Church during heavy flooding. We have some brasses in the Chancel which have  been covered up to protect them and a number of  wall paintings that have recently been restored
