Revd.John Hillier  was licensed to work as a self-supporting (ie non-salaried) priest in St. Leonard's parish on September 4th, 2007. John, who was ordained priest in 2002, had moved to this area relatively recently on retirement  from his architect's practice in South London.  He has spent three days a week working in Sandridge and Jersey Farm to assist our Priest-in-Charge, Revd. Vanessa Cato. He is  involved in preaching, taking services, including baptisms, weddings and funerals, as well as visiting in the parish and helping to develop the ministry of the lay members of the congregation in this area. You may have noticed him or his motorbike around the parish.

Vanessa will be leaving us on October 30th 2011, and John will be the point of contact for those needing a priest until her successor comes to join us, some time in 2012. He will be assisted in his work by visiting priests and a variety of lay people. His day off is Tuesday, so please don't contact him then, except in an emergency.
