St. Philip's is a modern building erected in 1966 but significantly reordered since then. Replacement of pews by chairs has led to greatly improved flexibility in worship and other uses of the space and facilities. The style of worship is towards the evangelical, following the Common Worship pattern, and includes an occasional Wholeness and Healing service in place of Morning Worship. Otherwise, there is an alternating Morning Prayer/Eucharist on Sunday morning. There is a Junior Church, or Sunday Club, at the main service. Other groups include the Mothers' Union, Pathfinders, Pastoral Visitors and a number of house groups.
The priest in charge of the parish is the Revd. Andrew Nicholson, who also has responsibility for the neighbouring parish of Thorner where he resides. At present our parish also has four readers and one retired priest.
AS FROM AUGUST, 2011, OUR MAIN SUNDAY WORSHIP WILL BE AT 5.30PM AND NOT 6.00PM. THE FOR ALL @ 4 SERVICE WILL BE HELD TWICE MONTHLY ON THE FIRST AND THIRD SUNDAYS AT 4PM
MONDAY MORNING PRAYER HAS NOW BEEN REPLACED BY A PRAYER BREAKFAST (8.30AM).

Sunday
For All @ 4 is an informal time for families and singles of all ages to worship together. It uses a mixture of visual presentation, lively worship songs and quieter moments. After half an hour we share in sandwiches and cake tea with craft activities and games for children. If you have no previous church background this is just for you. A warm welcome and an easy style.
Every first and third Sunday at 4:00 PM for ½ hour
Normally held on the first and third Sundays of each month and led by either a member of the clergy or a reader. There is a parallel Sunday Club for children to which younger members of the congregation can go after the start of the service and from which they return towards the end. Tea/coffee is served in the church after the service
Every first and third Sunday at 5:30 PM for 1 hour
The style of the service is relaxed, using the Common Worship liturgies, and communicant members of other Christian churches are welcome to receive the sacrament. There is no formal choir, but an enthusiastic music group leads the singing at most services.Tea/coffee is served afterwards.
Every second Sunday at 5:30 PM for 1 hour
