St John

St. John's Church is part of the Church of England in the village of Silverdale. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds. Silverdale has a thriving Church primary school. We worship God in a way which brings comfort, joy and challenge to all present; and we seek to witness to the love of God in Silverdale and the wider community, aiming to serve the community with practical care, love and support.

Silverdale is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Leighton Moss, the RSPB centre is located close by. The Church has been awarded a Bronze Eco Church Award.

People come to rest, reflect, walk and relax; even cyclists sometimes stop to worship at the church, still in their lycra!

140 Year Anniversary Service -

for 1 hour
St John
Emesgate Lane Silverdale Lancaster, LA5 0RJ, United Kingdom

A service to celebrate 140 years since the consecration of St John's Church. Welcoming the Bishop of Blackburn, Philip North to lead and preach at this service and some of St John's Primary School children to lead a song and a drama of the gospel reading.
You are invited to come and share the celebrations. At the end we will encircle the church with a Mexican wave of prayer, both giving thanks and looking out towards the village beyond.
