St. John's C.E. Church is the village church of Silverdale and, with its friends of Silverdale Methodist Church, offers a warm welcome to people of all ages and backgrounds. St John's has a thriving primary school. We strive to worship God in a way which brings comfort, joy and challenge to all present; and we seek to witness to the love of God in Silverdale and the wider community, aiming to serve the community with practical care, love and support.
Silverdale is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Leighton Moss, the RSPB centre is located here.
People come to rest, reflect, walk and relax; even cyclists sometimes stop to worship at the church, still in their lycra! We are a child-friendly church: there are books and toys for children and a Sunday School on the third Sunday each month.
There are three Sunday services: 8am (BCP); 10.15am Parish Eucharist for all ages; Evening Prayer 3.30pm (Wintertime) & 6.30pm (Summertime) All are welcome. Coffee and tea are served after the 10.15am service.
