St George's was founded as a mission church serving the people of Simister, part of the Parish of St Margaret, Holyrood, Prestwich. The austerity of the church building, the only church in the Diocese of Manchester begun and completed during the Great War, reflects the quiet simplicity which is the particular blessing of worship offered here in a traditional English village environment. Many activities are shared with the wider Church Family in St Margaret's parish; for full details see our Parish Church page by clicking on the link for St Margaret's. We would be delighted to welcome you to any of our services or events and look forward to meeting you.
