A village church mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 with some Saxon herringbone stone visible in the outer walls. Most of the building dates from the 12th century. We are one of the CHEQS parishes within the South Cotswold Team Ministry.
The 12th century font is particularly noteworthy. The carvings depict the Virtues, armed and trampling on the gross and hideous Vices, the names of the Virtues are carved and in the spaces between the Vices are written backwards
We are pleased to host regular worship and events by Southrop Church of England primary school
