Holy Communion
This is a spoken Communion service (no hymns) using the traditional words of the Book of Common Prayer alongside readings and prayers.
Every first third and fifth Sunday at 8:30 AM for ¾ hour
Book of Common Prayer
Early Worship
This is a spoken service of Morning Prayer (no hymns) led by trained members of the congregation. It uses the contemporary words of Common Worship with readings and prayers.
Every second and fourth Sunday at 8:30 AM for ¾ hour
Common Worship
First Sunday - Worship for All
This is an all-age contemporary service with hymns, worship songs, readings, prayers, activities and/or a talk. It is led by Readers and trained members of the congregation. It is often preceded at 9.45am by a breakfast of toast, croissants, tea/coffee and fruit juice.
Every first Sunday at 10:30 AM for 50 minutes
Family Friendly Coffee Common Worship
Holy Communion
This is a contemporary Common Worship Communion service with hymns, worship songs, prayers, readings and a sermon. There is usually a Kids’ Club which starts at the same time, with the children joining the adults for Communion. The service is usually followed by refreshments.
Every second and fourth Sunday at 10:30 AM for 1 hour

This is a contemporary Common Worship Morning Prayer service with hymns, worship songs, prayers, readings and a sermon. There is normally a Kids’ Club which meets at the same time. The service is usually followed by refreshments.

On Fifth Sundays a joint Communion service is held in one of the churches in the plurality: Sowerby, Sessay, Thirkleby, Kilburn or Bagby. Please check website for details.

A quiet half-hour service using the traditional words of the Book of Common Prayer. There are usually readings, prayers, a sermon or reflection and two hymns.

Joint service at Sowerby Methodist Church with hymns, readings, a talk and prayers.

A 30 minute service in church especially for pre-school children and their carers. Songs, stories, prayers and activities. Followed by a children’s lunch in the Parochial Hall plus tea and coffee for carers
