St Giles Church, Skelton, is one of England's 1000 best churches (Simon Jenkins).
Building started in 1247, reputedly by masons also building York Minster.
The church is normally open every day from 10:00 to 16:00; visitors are welcome.
A guide to the church is available. We are part of benefice of three churches.

The congregation for ordinary services is usually about 30.
We use the "Common Worship" order of service, with hymns from "Mission Praise" and music of the "The Addington Service".
We have recently formed "The St.Giles` Singers", who will be singing on the second Sunday of each month and for other special services.
Please come and join us.
Since the new and easier rules from the Church of England regarding weddings in church came into effect, we are receiving requests to be married at our church from far afield. Stop Press! On 30th June, 2010, we were very pleased to learn that the conservation work carried out on our church, in particular the doorway, was given the Lord Mayor`s Award.
