Prayers - 25th Sunday

25th Sunday OT A

CELEBRANT

God’s ways are not our ways. Because his justice and generosity exceed our standards, we can come to him in prayer, knowing that he listens and that he will act.

INTERCESSOR Give to your people grace to live for the good of this world, knowing that our true life is yet to come. Make our lives worthy of the name of Christ which we confess.

Lord hear us.

Bring harmony and justice into a divided world. We remember the troubled places of the Middle East and Korea. Our prayers ask blessing upon all the people of the United Kingdom for the future years.

Lord hear us.

We pray for all those affected by the earthquake in Mexico and the hurricanes in the Caribbean. Comfort those who are injured or bereaved and give strength to all those involved in the rescue and aid operation.

Lord hear us.

Teach us to be generous in our work and with our time. Bless the life of our church in its witness and outreach to the people of Hayes.

Lord hear us.

That we may not begrudge God his generous mercy with the latecomers to his vineyard, but rejoice together with them that we have found such a good master.

Lord hear us.

For all who are suffering, that the church may help them with her prayers and relieve them of anxiety with her love, so that God’s peace may stand guard over their hearts in Christ Jesus. We also pray for all on our Parish Sick List.

Lord hear us.

For the departed and especially Frederick Johnson, Sheila Riley, Arthur Gorbold (Rector), Dianne Manike and Pilkington Sengendo whose anniversaries of death fall this week.

Rest eternal grant unto them O Lord...

The church on earth rejoices in fellowship with the saints in glory. We ask their prayers and particularly the intercession of Blessed Mary as we say together Hail Mary...

CELEBRANT

Loving Father, you are near to all who call on you. Welcome our prayers with your generous care, and show us once more your abundant compassion. We ask this, through Christ our Lord. Amen. Merciful Father...
