The Church of St Mary the Virgin is the ancient parish church of St Marychurch, on the northern edge of Torquay. It has strong relationships with the local community, especially the parish primary school.
We are a parish church firmly in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England, and this is expressed in our liturgy. The Parish is registered with the Diocese of Exeter as a Petitioning Parish to preserve a traditional male ministry with regard to the sacraments. We are under the episcopal oversight of the Right Reverend Jonathan Goodall, the Bishop of Ebbsfleet.
Visitors can be assured of a warm welcome to any of our services.
A priest is usually in the church on a Saturday morning between 10am and 11am to discuss enquiries about weddings or baptisms (Christenings).
