St.Peter is a modern and welcoming church and community centre in Glascote Heath, Tamworth. The Church and Centre can be found on Hawksworth, Glascote Heath, a mile from the town centre and just off the A5 bypass through the town.
We are a ‘church plant’ that has grown to meet the needs of the community in a building that was finished in 2003. The congregation includes all ages with children playing a full part in the shared life; sometimes half the congregation is under 16!
Celebration and social events are an important part of our communal life and week by week worship moves seamlessly into fellowship and refreshments.
Loving Service are our watchwords expressed through the strands of our mission statement of “building faith, building relationships, building community and being built together” which drive church members, most of whom are local residents, to bring together all residents in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to combat social exclusion, create opportunities for change and to improve quality of life and the environment in which they live. Thus both opportunities and futures are ‘being built together’ in Glascote Heath.
EPH 2.22 And in him (Jesus) you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
We welcome you to come and join us and see if you might be added in to this glorious “building”.
