People are always welcome at St Peter's Church in Didcot. The current parish priest says "I've quickly discovered that the people are very open and welcoming. But I've never felt swamped by people trying to be too helpful - they respect the space we all need as well."
The building is warm and welcoming too, and although it was only built in 1976 it is unmistakably a holy place, touched by God.
At St Peter's we try to be at ease with God, with one another, and with ourselves. Although sometimes things can seem busy - we have lots of fantastic social events as well as our services - it's a golden rule that nobody should be asked to do things that aren't part of their calling from God. So we encourage people to be prayerful first of all, and then to respond to God's call, whatever that might be. That's the way we keep our focus on God.
