The Church of England ministering in Castle Donington, Hemington and Lockington, to share the love of Jesus Christ with our community and proclaim the Word of God to all.

St Edward’s is a church of local people seeking to grow spiritually and serve our community.

We hold a Modern Holy Communion Service every Sunday at 11am but also have Traditional Worship, Toddler Church, All Age Service, Primary Age Activities, Messy Church, Praise Services, Adult Nurture and groups for the elderly.

We are in partnership with our neighbour churches, local schools, Volunteer Centre, Royal British Legion, Nursing Home and Parish Council. People come to us at times of need or celebration.  We are embedded in our parish, we host the Grow Cook Share Lunches, our Jumble Sale is popular and we serve a full cooked Sunday breakfast every month!  Our 13th Century building has disabled access and is open on Summer Saturday mornings.

Recently, God has used us to minister to the very young and the elderly. This year we are seeking to reach out to adults. We believe all people have gifts from God to build up the fellowship and look forward to you finding your gifting with us.

Rev Andrew

The Short Service
We called it 'The Short Service' because it is short! - shorter than the average church service, and therefore more suitable for very young children. We hold it in St Edward's Church Hall on the third Sunday of every month (though sometimes we skip a month in holiday times). It starts at 10.00am and it's usually over by 10.40am, and there is a cup of coffee for those who can stay a bit longer for a chat. It's informal, but we hope it's an introduction to worship for those who are not regular churchgoers (adults as well as children!). It includes songs, a story, some kind of activity or chat, and prayers. . Come and join us!
Every third Sunday at 10:00 AM until Friday 1st December 2017 for 35 minutes
Family Friendly

Open Afternoon

We close the afternoon with a ten minute service of a reading and prayers for our community. We welcome everyone - young, elderly, frail and recovering from illness, or very well and able! Please come along and join us. If you require more information, please contact us via email at: stedwardscastledonington@outlook.com.
