4 Children and teenagers

Children are always welcome at our acts of worship, although some services are naturally more suited to children than others.

THIRTY MINUTES and PRAYTIME are especially designed for small children.

The 9.45 Sunday service is also a good one to bring children along to.

If small children are restless, there is a soft play area for them and their parent in the coffee lounge, where you can still hear through the service by relay.

For children from age 5 to Year 6 there is Children's Ministry at the 9.45 service.

Children come to Church and sit with their parents/carers (Sorry! You can't just send them). Soon after the service begins they are invited to join our children's workers in the extension for activities based on that Sunday's theme and readings. Later they rejoin their parents as Holy Communion is distributed.

On the second Sunday of each month we have THIRTY MINUTES at 11.30am.

This is a boistrous and noisy service for pre-school children and their parents or carers.

And on the first Tuesday of every month at 2.30pm we have PRAYTIME:

a simple service for pre-schools which finishes in time to pick up older childeren from school.

On Wednesday mornings we have our Toddlers Group in the extension which is open to all. For Health and Safety reasons though, there is a maximum number allowed so best to get there soon after 9.30am!

TEENAGERS

At the moment, there are no specific activities for teenagers within St John's - although a good number of our young people are Servers or Choristers.

We do have a sponsored Scout Group though and good links with local Guide units.

See our other links for details

We also support the OXYGEN youth project.

All of the adults who work with children and teenagers at St John's have either already had a CRB check or are undergoing one.

If you would like more information, do speak to me in church or on 020 8337 8830.
