St Mary's is the Anglican Parish Church serving the Village of Datchet.
It is part of the benefice of Colnbrook & Datchet.
'Our Vision' going forward fully supports 'Bishop John's Vision'

Our Worship includes both traditional liturgies and more

There is a strong musical tradition and the Church extends a
warm welcome to Worshippers & Visitors from all backgrounds.
Children are welcomed to the main Sunday services.
We also have a Creche and a Sunday School.
The Church is open to Visitors at all times possible during
daylight hours.
Normally the Church would be locked again at
4.00pm -4.30pm unless an evening Service or Activity is
planned.

Ascension Day Holy Communion
Ascension Day this year falls on Thursday 17th May. There will be a Service of Holy Communion at 8pm in Church supported by the St Mary's Choir. Come along if you can to this important event in the Church's year.

Patricia Wyard is heading up a sponsored walk for "Christian Aid" starting at Bix in South Oxfordshire on Saturday 19th May. If you would like to sponsor her and her small team, or better still join her, you would be more than welcome. There are three choices of distance, 5, 10 or 15 miles depending upon your abilities or energy levels. Please make a Diary note that 'Christian Aid Week' this year falls on 13th to 19th May. Make a Diary note now as there will be various activities during the Week.
One of the 'major' aspects of this Fundraising Week is the "Door To Door" collections. Please look out for the distinctive red envelope falling on your doormat and then welcome the Collectors when they call again to collect them. Please give generously to this very worth cause.

Diamond Jubilee Celebration Service
There will be a Diamond Jubilee Celebration in Church on Saturday 2nd June at 11am. There will be contributions from St Mary's Church Choir and the Choirs of the Datchet Schools. Our special guest in attendance will be Lord Montagu of Beaulieu.

"St Mary's Got Talent" !! This is a chance for the Church family to show their amazing talents at a fun social event.
Ian Hart, our super energetic Youth Worker is organising a talent show here at St Mary's Church. Whether you can sing, dance, act, juggle, tell jokes and whatever else you might want to showcase, this is the night for you !!! Ian hopes to have three age ranges: 4-11, 12-18 and 19 plus. Please put this date in your diary to attend or partake in this fun evening. To enter please let Ian know by June 17th. for entries and audience numbers. The cost will be £5:00p for adults. £2:50p for 4-18's and £1:00p for under threes. (Pay at the Door). Prizes for winners. All entries get a reward.

Friday 22nd June 2012 at 7:00 PM for 1½ hours St Mary's Datchet Choir at Lichfield Cathedral
Following on from last year's success at Gloucester Cathedral, the Choir of St Mary's Church will be travelling to Lichfield on the weekend of 21st & 22nd July to sing the Services in Lichfield Cathedral. The Services will be Saturday Evensong, Sunday Choral Eucharest & Sunday Evensong. These are wonderful opportunities for our Choir and particularly our younger choristers, to share in worship and fellowship whilst performing great music in truly wonderful surroundings. If you have the chance to come to Lichfield Cathedral that weekend, then do come and support them. For more information call Andrew Piggott on 01784 453854. Friends Of St Mary's
Friends of St. Mary's
FOSM is an association of people who support our Parish Church - the Church on The Green - and want it to remain at the heart of village life, now and for future generations. Though members may not necessarily want to attend its services, at some time in their lives they may look to St. Mary’s to host a Wedding, a Baptism or even a Funeral, and they help support the church through an annual subscription. The financial amount is decided by each member (minimum £10) and as well as providing FOSM members with a valuable connection to church, it helps, vitally, to keep St. Mary’s ‘open for business’.
There is another side to the Friends - an annual social calendar more focussed on socialising than fund raising. The FOSM Committee seeks to offer a programme of activities for FOSM members to enjoy. Actually, non-members are welcome to join in all those activities too but the cost to them is always more than to members. Some activities are actually free to FOSM members but not to non-members, even though they may be regular church attenders.
