Saint Peter's Church is situated on the crossroads at the bottom of Princes Street, Bishop Auckland.
We have a warm, welcoming community of church-goers and try and take an active role in our community.
St. Peter's was founded in 1875, and has, in its time, developed links to famous organists Edward Elgar and Nicholas Kilburn, both you played the early Harrison & Harrison organ in the church, and it was also the baptismal church of Stan Laurel, who lived on near by Princes Street.
St. Peter's is a developing community - we're welcoming many new classes to our church hall and people enjoy our space and facilities.
Services in the church are carried out by a visiting clergy, and are held on every Sunday at 10am. Holy Communion tends to take between 45 minutes and an hour, and everyone is welcome to take part in as much, or as little, of the service as they wish.
Our newly chosen church wardens, Peter Berry and Stephen Williams, are in charge of the church and its' hall, along with the church's PCC who meet regularly. If you have any suggestions or question, don't hesitate to get in touch, through our website, via our twitter account or by phone - all of our details are on the website, and the link is to the right of this page.
