St Paul's is not just a parish church. The area where the London 2012 Olympics will happen is directly within the parish boundary. The Olympic village once built will increase the numbers within the parish head count by several thousand. Not to mention that whilst the Stratford City construction, in conjunction with the Olympic arenas and village construction taking place over the next six years, will bring an estimated 30,000 men and women involved in the construction work, into the area. This is a lot for a a small church to deal with but not if we are faithful to God.
The incumbent Rev Kelvin Woolmer is also the 'Hard Hat' Chaplain to these men and women who will be constructing buildings which will be a focus for the world in 2012 and will change the face of Stratford East London, making a better environment for people to live in long after the Olympics have gone.
St Paul's has great acoustics and would welcome interest from anyone who wishes to set up a Gospel Choir or choir which will be open to members of the local community and be Christian in ethos. Enquiries to the Vicar
