St Saviour's is located in Ashford Road (near to Clifton Street in Old Town) and was built entirely by volountary labour in 1890. The church was then extended by volounteers in 1904, giving St Saviour's a unique history and character.
Indeed, John Betjeman, the Poet-Laureate, once said:
"I would sooner be on my knees within the wooden walls of St Saviour's than leaning elegantly forward in a cushioned pew in an Oxford college Chapel."
Today at St Saviour's, we continue to bear witness to our faith in Christ Jesus, and we continue to engage in mission.
We are a friendly and welcoming church within the Catholic Tradition of the Church of England and we look forward to greeting you.
