Holy Trinity, Tattershall

Welcome to Holy Trinity Church in Tattershall, Lincolnshire.

We are in a group of ten Anglican parishes serving rural villages in central Lincolnshire. Each church has its own character and activities, but we work and share together as much as we can, in worship and social events throughout the year.

We are committed to being a people of prayer, learning to live out our faith in Jesus and loving our local community.

Holy Trinity Church is open daily throughout the summer, except on Thursdays and Fridays.

Our Tea Bar is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10.30am to 2.30pm, serving a range of hot and cold drinks, Wilcox Bakery cakes and biscuits. A drink and cake costs £3.00, with snacks and children’s drinks also available at sensible prices.

All God’s creatures are welcome at Holy Trinity. During July, you may see bats flying inside the church, and we are also home to a variety of birds which breed and live here. We are very dog friendly too, so please do bring your dog in to say hello - fresh water is available for them.

There is plenty to discover as you explore the church. Marvel at the magnificent architecture and our beautiful East Window, learn about our colony of bats- currently around 1,100 - and take time to examine our historic artefacts, including the medieval brasses.

For those seeking stillness, the chancel offers a peaceful place to pray, reflect and rest in the presence of God. Children of all ages are welcome to try brass rubbing, and we also have age-appropriate colouring sheets for quieter moments of mindfulness.

There is a large selection of books, CDs and other items available for sale - including many things you never knew you needed! We also stock Heather’s Jams and local honey.

Parking directly in front of the church is available for disabled visitors. We have a fully accessible toilet with baby-changing facilities, as well as a separate toilet.

All other visitor parking is available in the castle car park which is signposted.

Safeguarding

Most of the time at church we are like a big happy family. However even in very happy families, people can have a bad day and even people we know and trust can upset us. We want to help everyone have good days all of the time. We try to make sure that people who have jobs in the church always behave well and in a way that is helpful to you. We never want anyone or anything in church to frighten you, confuse you or worry you. It is important that you tell us if something is upsetting you or if you are feeling worried about something that's happening or something somebody is doing. We have specially trained people who can talk to and who you can ask for help. These people are good at Safeguarding. This means they look after everyone's safety. Caring for people is a very important part of our Christian life.

Our Parish Safeguarding Officer for the Bain Valley group of churches is Tina Calvert, who is available to contact on 07718 884641, or email [email protected].

If you wish to speak with someone outside the church, you can contact the Diocesan safeguarding team – their contact details are available in the link below. There is also information there about other places where you can get help or advice.
