The church of All Saints Theydon Garnon is known to millions as it stands overlooking the junction of the M11 and M25. The church has been near to the main route to London for centuries as the old Roman road passes within a few hundred yards to the east of the building and the medieval road to London passes to the west. Part of the nave dates to the 13th century and the church tower is dated to 1520. The setting, apart from the motorways, is very rural, and the church is found down a quiet country lane that ends shortly beyond the church.
All Saints Theydon Garnon holds a least one service on a Sunday at the main service time of 9:15am. This service alternates between being a Eucharist, a very popular all-age lay-led worship and Morning Prayer. If the main service is not a Eucharist an 8am said BCP communion service is held. There is a weekday communion at 10am on a Tuesday and monthly BCP choral evensong.
All Saints have their own church hall, called the Gatehouse, that is available for hire and is where the all-age Sunday School meets during the main Sunday Communion services. They have active links with the Brownies and scout and cub groups they sponsor.
All Saints Theydon Garnon is a member of the Small Pilgrim places and has opened a porch to be available at all times, as well as the regular church opening on Saturdays and Sundays for visitors.
All Saints' Theydon Garnon only holds the most recent registers of baptisms, marriages and burials. All others are held at the Essex Records Office in Chelmsford.
All Saint's Theydon Garnon was a member of the Epping District Team Ministry until 30th September 2010. On 1st October 2010 it became part of a United Benefice with St Mary's Theydon Bois. The Reverend Stephen Walker is now the vicar.
