This Church is part of the Cranmer Group of parishes, which includes Scarrington, Orston, Whatton, Hawksworth, Aslockton, Thoroton (hence sometimes known as the SO WHAT group!). Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury at the time of the Reformation and author of the Book of Common Prayer, was born in Aslockton and worshipped at Whatton (where his father is buried).
Although Thoroton only has a service on the second Sunday in the month, Whatton has a service at 9.00am on the first Sunday, Scarrington has one at 9.00am on the third Sunday and Hawksworth has one at 9.00am on the fourth Sunday.
There is a service of Evening Prayer (BCP) on the first Sunday of the month at 6.00pm at Orston Church.
There is usually a Holy Communion service (BCP) followed by a light lunch at Aslockton Church at 10.45am on the first Tuesday of the month.
The Cranmer Group Guest Service is held each fifth Sunday in the month at one of the churches in the Group. This is the only service in the Group on that day.
Our aim is to know Christ better and to make Him better known. All are welcome at our services.
The vicar is the Revd Karl Przywala, Cranmer Group Vicarage, Main St., Aslockton, Nottingham, NG13 9AL, tel: 01949 850523.
