St Mary's, Throwleigh, is a beautiful village church set on the north-eastern slopes of Dartmoor. It has a rich history and there are many interesting features from both the pre-Reformation era - such as the Easter Sepulchre - and the Anglo-Catholic tradition which shaped its more recent past until the mid-Twentieth century.
Just as importantly, St Mary's continues to be at the heart of this rural community, recently hosting the Throwleigh Festival and various concerts, and we welcome visitors of all traditions and none to join us in worship or just to look around.
We belong to a family of churches, The Whiddon Parishes, which in 2012 will form a new Mission Community in the Diocese of Exeter.
