Welcome to Saint Peter's Church Tiverton

Saint Peter's has been a venue of worship and spiritual exploration for almost a thousand years.  The services reflect the needs of the community and an attempt to understand that which is "other". Some people find it easier to come in and sit quietly- we try to keep the church open during daylight hours - others enjoy being with others sharing music, praise, prayer and communion. Whatever suits you, you may find something suitable on the "services and events" page.

The main Sunday services are:

8.00. Holy Communion - Book of Common Prayer.

10.15. Parish Communion - Common Worship.

New from January 2012:  MeTime and Me Too - see Our News!

St. Peter's Tiverton is a friendly Church welcoming all age groups despite its almost Cathedral-like size. Despite it's large size the interior is bright and it has a fascinating history.

The first stone church on this site was consecrated in 1073 (find the Norman door!) It has seen many changes including damage during the Civil War and a major enlargement during the 19th century. Of particular interest are the carvings on the Greenway Chapel built by a wool merchant of Tiverton, John Greenway in the early 16th century.
