St. James' is a lively and growing church congregation, that gives a warm welcome both to those who live in the small village of Tong, and to others in the local area. Sunday worship is at 8 am and 4 pm. Children are welcome - and there are special groups for children during most Sunday afternoon worship services.
The church building is fascinating - for whilst the present building as it stands dates from 1727, there is still evidence of the Norman church of 1140, and of the medieval additions. Earlier remains of a Saxon church were found beneath the present building at the time of a major restoration in 1980.
St. James is a part of the Parish of Tong and Holme Wood, which includes two other churches - St. Christopher's Holme Wood, and St. John's Tong Street. For more information see the parish website: www.tongparish.org.uk

Takes place every week - but on the second Sunday of each month it takes place at St. Christopher's Holme Wood - one of the other churches in the parish.
