People have been worshipping at St Mary’s Church since the 12th Century although most of the architecture is Medieval and Victorian. The 67ft rood screen, dating from the 15th Century, is the longest in Devon and has been partially restored to show the original colouring. Uffculme is a close and active community and the church congregation is correspondingly warm and participative. Services are varied to be as inclusive as possible and to accommodate a range of worship preferences. We also have a peal of 8 bells that are the envy of many and often attract visiting ringers.
