St Mary's Uffington lies at the heart of the Vale of White Horse; and with its distinctive octagonal tower and imposing Early English architecture is sometimes called "the Cathedral of the Vale". St Mary's exists to celebrate the love of God and to meet the spiritual needs of the whole village community. Our style is inclusive, and together with sister churches at Shellingford, Woolstone and Baulking, we offer both formal and informal styles of worship.

One Family service
This service is non-eucharistic and informal in style. We usually start with tea and cake/biscuits and then, as we are led into the theme, we worship together through song, activities, word and prayer. Our thoughts and prayers often highlight current events and issues, but not always. Families with young children are welcome. However, we hope that teenagers and adults will also feel welcome and come away with something worthwhile.
Every first Sunday at 11:00 AM for 1 hour
Family Friendly Refreshments
Parish Communion
Our Parish Communion is, we like to think, a dignified service open to those living in, and around, Uffington and to those passing through, whether they are on holiday or visiting family and friends. The hymns tend towards the traditional but not exclusively so, and if you like a good sing so much the better (in fact your voice is invaluable for 'building up the Body'). We aim to provide you with a good balance - a chance to draw breath after a busy week; to sit in silence, prayer, thought and worship; to sing and listen to a sermon, and receive the good things of God in bread and wine.
Every second Sunday at 11:00 AM for 1 hour
Common Worship
Service Of the Word
In this non-eucharistic service we take the opportunity to pray about and study how God's words in the Bible can be applied to the challenges of life today. The setting and format follow a simple pattern of hymns, prayers and readings with a short sermon or dramatic interpretation. As in the One Family Service refreshments are served beforehand as part of our friendly welcome and to give a chance to chat to friends and visitors. Families are welcome and we find the more predictable service structure helps us worship God through the changing seasons of the year.
Every third Sunday at 11:00 AM for 1 hour
Family Friendly Refreshments Common Worship
All Age Communion
This is a Communion service to which people of every age group are welcome. Hymns range from ancient to modern (Taize, Sydney Carter, Graham Kendrick, Iona etc.). The liturgy is intended to engage people and God directly but respectfully too, and allows the congregation to play as much a part as possible. The service is designed to be slightly shorter than our usual Parish Communion.
Every fourth Sunday at 11:00 AM for 1 hour
Family Friendly Common Worship
