Holy Ascension was dedicated in 1854 to serve the small rural community of Upton by Chester. It now serves a population of around 9,000 and has over 220 members on the electoral roll.

There are up to four services of different types each Sunday and a Holy Communion service every Wednesday morning.

Our purpose is to be the people of God in Upton, committed to Christ, to one another, and to service in the community. Together we worship God with joy and love and with an openness to renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Coffee and Chat
Organised by Churches Together in Upton (CTU) and held in the Scout Headquarters, Weston Grove, Upton
Except Bank Holidays every Monday at 10:00 AM for 2 hours

Association of Church Fellowships
Fellowship meetings in the Church Hall, Demage Lane, with guest speakers covering a wide range of topics.
Except July and August. every third Monday at 7:30 PM for 2 hours

Tuesday

Sunshine Tots
For pre-school children with their carers: play, craft, storytime and songtime in the Church Hall, Demage Lane. Sessions cost 50p per child, including drinks and biscuits for all. Everyone welcome.
Term-time only every second third fourth and fifth Tuesday at 1:15 PM for 1½ hours

Film Afternoon
Our own screenings of popular films in the Kempe Room at Holy Ascension Church
Except June, July and August Please check 'Diary' for late chnages every last Tuesday at 2:00 PM

Sunshine Tots Praise & Play
A short service in Church for pre-school children and their carers, with stories, songs and prayers followed by free play for the children and complimentary refreshments for their carers in the Kempe Room.
Term time only every first Tuesday at 2:00 PM for 1 hour

Wednesday

Holy Communion
Every Wednesday at 10:15 AM

Wednesday Singers
An informal worship gathering on the last Wednesday of each month except December for hymn singing, cups of tea and fellowship.
Except December every last Wednesday at 3:00 PM

Thursday

Sewing Group
Meets in the Kempe Room at Church to sew, knit and make a variety of goods for sale for charity and for Church funds. Coffee and tea always available, with plenty of biscuits and laughter too! All welcome.
Every Thursday at 10:00 AM for 2 hours

Saturday

Parish Prayers
Prayers for the parish in Holy Ascension Church, Church Lane.
Every second third fourth and fifth Saturday at 9:30 AM for ½ hour

Saturday church opening
Holy Ascension Church is open every Saturday morning from 10.00am to 12 noon. Refreshments are available and there is someone to talk to. EVERYONE IS WELCOME
