Whitefriars is a lively, growing church, meeting in a school and emphasising informality.
Our values are to be evangelical (we value and preach God's word), charismatic (we depend on the Holy Spirit and value his gifts), and catholic (we celebrate the sacraments and value being part of the wider church).
Whitefriars began in 1991 years ago as a holiday club for children. We're now an all-age congregation and became a separate Church of England parish on 1 January 2008. We continue to place particular importance on our children's and young people's ministries. This includes having flourishing links with local schools, and we run weekday groups for children and young people of all ages. This includes a thriving Kidz' Klub on Friday evenings in term-time.
We also run small groups for our adult members, for worship, discipleship, fellowship and outreach.
The Alpha course, twice a year, is part of our regular programme, to help newcomers and friends and neighbours discover the Christian faith for themselves.
We are linked with the New Wine network, and many of our young people serve at New Wine on team.
