As well as holding traditional church services, St
Thomas's is involved in many aspects of community
life.
These include Fellowship meetings, Sunday
School and Youth Group, House Groups, Lunches for
Single people and neighbourhood services to assist
people without access to their own transport. The
church also publishes a vibrant monthly magazine,
"Church and Village" with contributors from
local societies and organizations.
We are particularly proud of the relationship with
our neighbouring C of E school as this is a
corner-stone in involving more children and young
parents in worship and spiritual development.
In order to strengthen our community ties and make
better use of the church building we are currently
remodelling the church to provide a separate
Community Room with Upper Balcony and to replace
the pews with chairs to enable a more flexible
layout.
The new Community Room is now open and being
actively used for meetings, coffee stops and other
functions, including a computer club for all levels
of ability.
