St Mary’s is a diverse and vibrant church community seeking to make faith real in todays world. We represent over 22 different nationalities and have over 400 members of different ages drawn from across E17 and beyond. We are part of the Walthamstow Team Ministry and share our work and witness with St Stephen's, St gabriel's and St Luke's.

Our vision is to be a church that is Growing People and Transforming Communities.

We seek to grow people by sharting vibrant worship that connects faith and life with an emphasis on welcome and informality. There are a wide range of groups for all ages, opportunities to pray, teams to visit the sick and hosebound and social, community and other events. We seek to transform local communities by working with local young people, running a Debt Centre in association with Christians Against Poverty, running teams for the Waltham Forest churches Night Shelter and Christian Kitchen. We are also involved in grass roots community organsing through the work of TELCO and seeking to supprot and advocate for local people through our Near Neighbours worker and other innititives.

Our building is the ancient parish church of Walthamstow nearly 1000 ys old, with every Walthamstow parish, not only those now forming part of the team, created from it at different stages in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

With arts events, social programmes, spaces for hire and involvement across the community there is something for everyone.
