St Peter-in-the-Forest, Walthamstow

Jesus has no boundaries for love; nor do we. We want to involve everybody in worship in whatever way they feel able to make their approach to God. We are about more than ‘bums on seats’ on a Sunday: we want to learn together, to worship together, to serve together and to simply be together.

Our whole approach to worship makes creative use of our all our senses—delighting in sight, in sound, in touch and in smell—as part of a rich ritual. Our services are all assisted by a wide range of musical accompaniment, from organ and choir to orchestra. Our regular form of worship follows ‘Common Worship’, the most widely used prayer book of the Church of England. On Sundays we offer Evening Prayer in the 'Traditional Language' of the Book of Common Prayer.

For children to become the best kind of adult that they can become, we need to allow them to be the best kind of children that they can be. We have a specially focused children's church called ‘Rocks’. It is richly resourced through our partnership with the Red Balloon Foundation; and by our own team of experienced, skilled, certified and authorised children's ministers. We take safeguarding seriously and follow, maintain and apply the Church of England’s national safeguarding guidelines. Most Sunday mornings our younger congregation do their own thing in a safe, structured and experiential environment, before coming back to join the rest of us for communion. We love to hear what they have been learning, and they often teach us older ones a thing or two!

Our All Age services take place about once every five weeks, or ten times a year. We flag them up well in advance. These services are about an hour long and include music, drama, art activities, praise, prayer and worship. We keep children central to what we are about.
