St. Botolph's is a beautifully sited church in the centre of the tiny hamlet of Wardley just off the A47 where Rutland runs into Leicestershire. The church was built in the early 13th century and little has changed. Today there is no electricity nor water. Music is provided by a harmonium. Clear glass gives the church a feeling of light and space and there are beautiful views from the churchyard of the remnants of the ancient Leighfield Forest.

The church was closed for regular worship on Sunday 20th June 2010.
