St.Thomas’s Church, West Hyde is part of the Parish of Mill End and Heronsgate with West Hyde and Maple Cross the Diocese of St.Albans. There are three churches in the Parish - St Thomas’s , St Peter’s, Mill End and St John’s Heronsgate (see separate entries).
It is the largest parish in the Deanery of Rickmansworth with a population of some 10,500.
Our friendly congregation is always delighted to welcome new faces to services and to our social functions. We have a Parish branch of the Mothers’ Union and a small robed choir. There is also a small team of altar servers.There is a church parade for Brownies and Cubs once a month at the Sung Eucharist.
The church is of knapped flint and is built in a Norman Style.It is set amidst trees and it is a haven for birds and wildlife and affords a beautiful setting for weddings.
