St Giles is the Anglican parish church of Whittington and the only place of worship in the village. We welcome everyone.
Our vision statement is as follows:
Our aim is to share Jesus Christ's message of love and forgiveness with the whole community. We seek to do this by providing opportunities for
* Worshipping God
* Caring for all
* Learning about the Christian Faith
Our regular worship services are both traditional (BCP) and modern (Common Worship), with a monthly all-age Family service and occasional Celtic, Healing services, Praise & Prayer and Songs of Praise. Robed choir at Evensong.
Mainly organ accompaniment, but sometimes keyboard/music group.
Hymn books: Anglican Hymns Old and New and Ancient & Modern NS.
NIV Bibles in pews.
Alpha and Start courses run from time to time. Active MU group. Sunday morning groups for children & teens. Very active scouts, cubs, beavers, guides, brownies, rainbows.
We regularly support mission agencies, including USPG, SPCK Feed the Minds, Church Army, Church Housing Trust, Lichfield Christian Schools Work Trust.
We are working and praying for church growth in every sense, and our goal is to bring people to mature faith in Jesus Christ so that they can be strong disciples in their everyday lives.
