Secretary’s review of the year 2011

 Review of the year 2011

During the year there have been 4 meetings of the PCC held in February, June, September and November. Also an extra ordinary meeting was held in April:

This was to approve the purchase of Bibles and Christian resources for Woodton and Ellingham Schools. A resolution was passed. Theft of lead from the Church roof, PCC agreed to the removal and sale of the remaining lead and replacement with a suitable alternative material.

Thanks to all the working part who met to remove and clean the bricks that fell due to the collapse of the Church wall, this was rebuilt. Special thanks to Mr. Hill for his expert advice. A thanksgiving service was held in August.

Once again the unpaid unit cut and tided the Churchyard and conservation area, thanks to Jackie and Bill for organising this.

Dictionaries were given to school leavers as a gift from the Church.

Special thanks to Monica who raised £300 on the cycle ride.

The new War Memorial plaque is now in place in Church, thanks to Henry for all his work researching this.

The Harvest Super was held in Hempnall.

I would like to offer support and prayers to Jackie as she continues her training as a reader.

Both Liz and Michael did a walk around the group.

The Christmas Fair was held in December, with Father Christmas in attendance, this was enjoyed by all proceeds for church funds.

The school held their Carol Concert in Church this was well attended by parents and friends, refreshments were served and enjoyed by all.

Best wishes to Liz and Tony as they look forward to enjoying their well earned rest together.

Thank you to both Liz and Michael for their continued love and support.
