This Church is part of the Cranmer Group of parishes, which includes Scarrington, Orston, Whatton, Hawksworth, Aslockton, Thoroton (hence sometimes known as the SO WHAT group!). Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury at the time of the Reformation and author of the Book of Common Prayer, was born in Aslockton and worshipped at Whatton (where his father is buried).
The normal Sunday service pattern is:
1st Sunday in the month
9am Whatton Holy Communion
10.45am Aslockton All Age Worship to include Baptism on alternate months (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sept, Nov
6pm Orston Evening Prayer
2nd Sunday in the month
9am Thoroton Holy Communion
10.45 am Aslockton Morning Praise
10.45 am Orston All Age Worship to include Baptism on alternate months (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec)
3rd Sunday in the month
10.45 am Aslockton Holy Communion
10.45am Orston Morning Prayer (CW)
5.00 pm Scarrington Holy Communion (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov) but Songs of Praise (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct & Dec)
4th Sunday in the month
9.00am Hawksworth Holy Communion (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov) but Morning Prayer (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct & Dec)
10.45 am Orston Holy Communion
10.45am Aslockton Morning Prayer
5th Sunday of the month
