Never in our lifetimes, have we entered Easter under the cloud of a pandemic, where just to go near someone or shake their hand could put their life or ours in danger. What can the Christian faith offer in the face of this crisis when even our churches are shut?</span>

St. Paul said there are three things that matter: ‘faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.' (1 Corinthians ch 13 v 13). We are journeying through Holy Week, and remembering Christ's suffering and death on the cross. He didn't have to go through that. He went through that to show His great love for us. But the Good News of Easter is that Christ didn't stay on the cross. He rose again to new life. And this new life is on offer to every one of us even, and perhaps especially, during this pandemic.

We have seen those in the NHS who have already sacrificed their lives to save others. In or own community we have seen people volunteering to help others who are isolated and need help and support.

So we have faith that this life is not the end, and we have hope, yes in the resurrection, but also in the sacrifices of those around us, and the great love which people have shown to one another.

So even in the midst of a pandemic, we have faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love. So let us continue at this time to love one another, and look out for the lonely and the vulnerable especially.

Thank you to all in our community who are helping in anyway, and have a very happy and peaceful Easter.
