DESCRIPTION:June 4th each year marks the anniversary of the tragic death o
 f 12 young USAF men as they crashed their plane close to Garvestone\, whil
 st on their way to fight in World War Two. They died shortly before D-Day 
 and the people of Garvestone have worked together to erect a memorial n th
 eir honour. The memorial is in the field behind the Village Hall. Each yea
 r we gather there to hold a short memorial service and to remember them\, 
 and the sacrifice they made to win our freedom today. All are welcome.
