Church of England Diocese of Norwich Thetford

New Trainee Youth Minister

This week we were delighted to welcome a new member of staff to the Thetford Team Ministry: Daniel Sherrington.

Daniel will spend the next three years with us as a trainee youth minister through the diocese's Undergraduate Training Scheme. He will be working across our churches and with young people across the benefice as we seek to grow our mission and ministry amongst teenagers. He will also be joining Thetford Youth Project activities such as the Pulse Youth Café, which runs as a drop-in youth work on Tuesday afternoons at the end of the Thetford Academy school day for year six and upwards.

Alongside 17 hours per week with us here in Thetford, Daniel will be studying for a degree in youth ministry at Ridley Hall in Cambridge. As part of the Undergraduate Training Scheme, all Daniel's course costs plus the salary for his Thetford work will be paid by the diocese.

It was good to have Daniel sharing a little more about himself at yesterday's Team Prayer Night, and he will be coming to a variety of our Sunday services over the next few weeks in order to introduce himself to more members of our church families. And look out for a fuller introduction to Daniel in the next pastoral email...

When you meet him, please give Daniel a big welcome to the Thetford Team; he's looking forward to getting to know us all!
