 u rest\, come’\nThe Women’s World Day of Prayer was started in the 19t
 h century in the US and Canada with a focus on concern for  women and chil
 dren across the globe\, and an emphasis on prayer. The first service in th
 e UK took place during the 1930’s. The Day of Prayer aims at promoting p
 rayerful living and worship and helping raise awareness of the lives and c
 oncerns of others throughout the world\, especially those who write the se
 rvice.\nEach year the service is written by a different country. This year
  it is written by women in Nigeria with the theme of ‘I will give you re
 st\, come’. This service will be used by people across the world on the 
 6th March.\nSt Cuthbert's Church is hosting the World Day of Prayer 2026 f
