St Mary's Church, Stottesdon, receives vital Lottery funding!

Shropshire ‘heritage at risk’ church awarded £271,500 grant by The National Lottery Heritage FundAn exciting new heritage project - “Stottesdon Parish Church, Past, Present and Future” - is being made possible by money raised by National Lottery players. Starting this summer and finishing around Christmas, the project will deliver essential repairs to the roof, the rainwater disposal system and stonework – to safeguard the 1,000-year-old building. Parallel investment in more sustainable heating and lighting will achieve a warmer and well-lit welcome for all – a real transformation from today’s all-to-often cold and dark interior. The complementary programme of community activities and events, and volunteering opportunities, (continuing into 2023 and beyond) will encourage more residents, locals, and visitors alike to enjoy exploring, learning about, and using this heritage more often.
