In normal times, whatever they were, we usually held an annual Church Fete to help raise funds for the church. However last year and again this year that has not been possible because of the restrictions on people gathering. As we emerge from those rather grim times it is now possible to have social mixing - whilst being sensible.
Recognising that there has been little in the way of social events in a village renowned for its wide range of activities and knowing that there have been a significant number of new residents in the village in the past 18 months it was felt that we should have some sort of "opening up" event to kick start village life. Thus was born the idea of a Community Fete where all village organisations could participate, either to showcase themselves or to raise funds.
The Community Fete will be held on Saturday 4th September, behind the Community Centre, which is next to the school and opposite the church, from 12 noon to 4pm. All are welcome.
Do come along and meet the neighbours and find out what makes Wellington tick.
