Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord,
May the God of all grace be with you.
Tier five restrictions are impacting us all. It is never easy to have our freedoms curtailed, even when for the right reasons. And especially with our western mindsets where the individual trumps the communal. But with a virus that is so easily transmissible, and which affects different people so unpredictably, we choose the Christian mindset of putting the good of others before ourselves.
As those who love and serve the Lord, we value our corporate worship, but have decided to pause services in our church buildings for the time being. We do this, knowing that we are also people of everyday faith, who live and tell the story of God’s love in the everyday, which becomes our act of worship, every day, wherever we are, and whatever we are doing. May I therefore encourage you each day to spend time reading the suggested daily bible readings in the weekly news and praying that God would lead you in your acts of mercy and kindness each day.
Throughout January we are working through a series on Christian Giving, to help us develop a godly mindset to our stewardship of God’s finances that he has entrusted to us. Please do engage with this series through the weekly news and through the Sunday talks (also available via the youtube link).
Structure and routines all help us through days of lock down. So, how about joining us each evening at 5.30pm for Evening Prayer via zoom – a time to engage with the bible, and in prayer with others, not to mention the all-important chit chat afterwards!
