Following discussions with our church communities, this year's Easter openings of our churches will be:
April Maundy Thursday at Chewton Mendip Church
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Church opens for private prayer and reflection.
No need to book, but please wipe down pew or anything you touch.
Sanitiser and tissues available.
April Good Friday at Litton
2 p.m. ‘The Final Hour’ Service outside in the Churchyard.
April Easter Day at Chewton Mendip Church
9 a.m. Easter Day inside church Service of Holy Communion.
Bookings will be required for both services. Please phone 01761 241 644 or email [email protected]
If you find you have booked and cannot attend, please let us know.
There will be a Reserve List. Fiona will send you a copy of the service to print off.
Numbers will be restricted in line with the government guidelines at the time. Masks/face coverings must be worn, and social distancing observed.
We know how important Easter is to many, so trust that these conditions will help people celebrate this special time of year, yet limit risk to all, wherever possible.
All this may change of course. Please contact me if you have any concerns.
Do use your church, it is there for you.
Generally, my hope is to begin to open our churches for Holy Communion Services in April. I cannot say for definite yet, there are consultations to be had, and guidance given. But please be assured we will open again as soon as safely possible.
I wish you all a Happy Easter.
